Free SEO Audit — What to Fix First

Free SEO Audit — What to Fix First

A free SEO audit of your site, run by the same engine we deploy for clients: a technical, keyword, content and competitive pass that comes back as a ranked list of what to fix first - not a 300-issue document sorted by severity.

What the audit actually looks at

Most sites do not fail on one layer, so a site audit that only reads one is measuring the wrong thing. This one covers four, and reports them against each other rather than as separate lists.

  • Technicalindex state, canonical tags, redirect chains, structured data, internal link health, crawl waste and Core Web Vitals, checked against the rendered page rather than the source you serve.
  • Keywordwhich terms each page is genuinely built to win, where two of your own pages are competing for the same search, and which valuable terms nothing on the site targets at all.
  • Contentthin pages, near-duplicate pages, and pages aimed at an intent the current SERP has moved away from.
  • Competitivewhat the pages currently outranking you actually do differently, page type by page type, rather than a generic domain-authority comparison.

What you get back

A prioritised SEO analysis, ordered by what the fix is likely to return against what it costs to make. Every finding names the specific URL, the specific change, and the reason it is ranked where it is. Findings we cannot act on autonomously - the ones that need a developer, a designer, or a decision only you can make - are separated out and named as such instead of being padded into the same list.

What you will not get is a scored badge out of 100. A single number tells you nothing about which of your pages is closest to breaking through, and optimising toward it is how sites end up technically immaculate and commercially invisible.

How this differs from an instant free website SEO audit tool

An instant free website SEO audit tool - Semrush, Ahrefs Webmaster Tools, SEOptimer, Sitechecker and the rest - crawls your site and scores it in seconds, and for a first look that is genuinely useful. We use tools in that class ourselves as inputs. What they cannot do is decide. A crawler flags every missing meta description on the site with equal weight, including on pages that will never receive a search impression, because it has no way to know which of your URLs matter commercially.

The read is the difference. This audit uses automated collection for the exhaustive work and a person for the ranking, which is why the output is a short ordered list rather than a long sorted one.

Who this is for

Sites with enough pages that the problem is no longer obvious. If you have twenty URLs, you probably already know what is wrong with them. If you have several hundred, spread across services, locations, a blog and a store, the expensive problem is not the issues themselves - it is that nobody can tell you which twelve of them to do first. That is the question this is built to answer.

What happens after the audit

Nothing automatically. The findings are yours whether you work with us or hand them to your own team. If you do want the fixes deployed, the audit maps onto the modules that do the work: Precision Page Deployment for the per-page content and on-page layer, technical SEO for the crawl, schema and index work, Keyword Universe for the terms nothing currently owns, and the AI Visibility Audit if you want the answer-engine question measured, which this free audit does not cover. If you want the longer version of how audits are run and what to look for in one, the guide to getting a free SEO audit covers it end to end.

Where the engine is running

This is live work, not a spec - and the sites are ours. The engine runs on Astound Cleaning Group, a UK commercial cleaning company we own, on our rye whiskey community RyeCentral, and on this site, with every page change recorded in a dated per-page deployment log. We run every module on our own businesses before we run it on anyone else's.

We publish no performance figures - not ours, not anyone's. A number without a dated before-and-after beside it is not evidence. When there is a real measurement window worth showing, it will appear here with both readings and the dates attached.

Questions we hear

What does a free SEO audit include?

Four layers, because a site rarely fails on only one. The technical layer: index state, canonicals, redirect chains, schema, crawlability and Core Web Vitals. The keyword layer: which terms your pages are actually built to win, and which valuable ones nothing on the site targets. The content layer: which pages are thin, duplicated against each other, or aimed at an intent the SERP no longer rewards. And the competitive layer: what the pages outranking you do differently, page type by page type. What comes back is a ranked list of what to fix, in the order that pays.

How long does a free SEO audit take?

The crawl and the data pulls are automated and finish quickly. The part that takes real time is the read - a person goes through the output, discards the findings that do not matter for your site, and ranks what is left against the effort each fix costs. The finished report reaches your inbox within 3–7 working days of your request.

Is a free SEO audit worth it?

It is worth exactly as much as the work it makes possible. An audit that hands you 300 issues sorted by severity is not useful, because severity is not priority - a critical-flagged issue on a page nobody searches for is worth less than a small fix on a page already earning impressions. The value is in the ranking, not the finding. If the audit does not tell you what to do first, it has not done its job.

Is the free SEO audit report PDF, or something else?

A free SEO audit report PDF is what most tools give you: a scored document generated on the spot. We do not lead with the document, because a PDF is where SEO backlogs go to die - it gets read once and never worked through. Findings come back as a prioritised list of specific changes tied to specific URLs, so the output is a work queue rather than a deliverable. If your team needs it in a particular format to circulate internally, ask when you submit the form.

Is this a free AI SEO audit or a human one?

Both, and the split is deliberate. Machines are better at the parts that are exhaustive - crawling every URL, diffing every canonical, checking every schema block, reading SERPs at volume. People are better at the parts that are judgement - whether a page is worth saving, whether a keyword genuinely fits, whether the SERP intent has moved away from the page type you have. A free AI SEO audit that skips the second half produces a longer list, not a better one.

Do I have to buy anything afterwards?

No. The audit is free and it is yours, including the findings you decide to hand to your own team or another agency. We run it because the fastest way to show what the engine does is to point it at your site and let the output speak. If you want us to deploy the fixes, that conversation happens after you have seen the list, not before.

See where your site stands. The free AI-powered SEO audit is your first telemetry read.
